Healthy 3 ingredient cranberry sauce to make on Thanksgiving and beyond

I never miss the cranberry season because this fruit is extremely high in antioxidants and one of the most potent superfoods!

Some of the other benefits of cranberries include:

  • high fiber content - helps you to stay fuller for longer.

  • high in prebiotic - a nutrient that feeds the gut bacteria and helps them thrive.

  • high in Vitamin C - immune system support (and glowing skin!).

  • blood sugar control - cranberries are some of the lowest-sugar fruits.

INGREDIENTS

  • bag of cranberries

  • 1/2 cups of maple syrup

  • 1/2 cups of water

INSTRUCTIONS

Gather the ingredients and add everything to a pot, bring to a simmer, and cook until most of the cranberries have popped, stirring occasionally. The sauce will become thick and glossy – keep in mind that it will thicken more as it cools, so you may want to stop cooking just before your desired thickness. I normally cook it for about 15 minutes. You could also add some orange zest, cinnamon or vanilla into the mix if you desire.

Viola!

Enjoy this very healthful sweet and tart sauce with about anything - I even love adding it to my morning oatmeal :)
